Good’s Celebrates 116th Anniversary
On February 14th, in the year 1895, our very own great-grandfather, Elmer Samuel Good, welcomed the first of what would someday become millions of visitors, to his new store here in Kewanee, Illinois. Tough times, and an outside temperature of minus 26 degrees, made the day a memorable one indeed.
His philosophy was to offer an exceptional selection of quality merchandise at the lowest possible prices – every day. We are proud to say we still abide by Great Grandpa Good’s time-tested principles of doing business. His business started in a small modest storefront, and has now grown to nearly a quarter-million-square-foot, home furnishings multi-store complex. While so much has changed in 116 years, we are ever mindful of Great Grandpa Good’s greatest, guiding principle. Treat your visitor as you would like to be treated…be helpful, friendly folks, here to attend to your visitor’s every need.
